Veterinary Asst. or Technician: (Full time, 7:30am-3:30pm Tues. – Sat.) Assists shelter veterinarian in the Vet Clinic including medical treatments and exams, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and clinic cleaning. Also assists with vaccinations, deworming and medical and behavior evaluation od animals entering the shelter. Work as a positive team member to help CAS pursue its mission, goals and philosophy.
Required: HS Diploma or GED. Over 18 years of age. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. PC knowledge with Windows environment.
Highly Desired: Certified Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician or current enrollment in an accredited program. Six months to one year back ground in Animal Sheltering work.
Front Desk Staff: (Part time, possible weekends)
Do you love working with animals and people?! Cheyenne Animal Shelter is looking for part time Customer Service personnel. This position requires an individual that is comfortable interacting with patrons, handling animals and multi-tasking. Employee will assist with new pet adoptions, owner reclaims and pet surrenders. Cross training for Animal Care duties will be required. We are looking for someone that is professional, easy to talk to upbeat!
Requirements: High School graduate or GED equivalent, previous customer service experience (1 year preferred), and animal handling experience.
Animal Care Staff: (Part time, possible weekends)
Have you spend extensive time caring for animals? Maybe you have limited animal handling experience but they hold a special place in your heart? Cheyenne Animal Shelter is looking for a hard working and focused employee. Duties will include care, feeding and cleaning of shelter animals and their habitats. Staff will also lead adoption counsels. Cross training with front desk staff will be required.
Requirements: 6 months experience in animal handling, adherence to all safety rules/procedures and excellent customer service skills are a must.
*Schedules are either 7:00 am-12:00 noon, or 1:00pm – 6:00pm, 4 days per week.
