Is your pup entered? As we count down to race day, we want to celebrate the real stars of the show - your beloved canines!

We're calling on all participants to showcase their racing superstars by sending us their most adorable photos and bios!

Here's how you can get involved!

1. Snap a photo. Capture your corgis and mutts in action, whether they're practicing their racing skills or just lounging around looking adorable. We want to see them at their best!

2. Write a bio. In 2-4 sentences, tell us all about your pup - their favorite treats, quirky habits, and what makes them the ultimate champion in your eyes.

3. Send us an email! Once you have your pawfect picture and bio, email them both to our Marketing Coordinator, Kayla, at khahn@caswyo.org. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, April 28th, so don't delay!

4. Spread the word! Encourage your fellow participants to join in on the fun!

When we receive your submission, your pup's story and photo will be specially featured on our social media channels leading up to the big day. Get ready for your furry friend to become a star, and don't forget to include their name so we can give them the recognition they deserve.

On April 18th, join the Cheyenne Animal Shelter for a low-cost vaccine clinic!

Swing by the Shelter (800 Southwest Dr.) between 10:00-2:00 P.M. with your cats and dogs to get them microchipped and caught up on their vaccinations. What better way to protect your pet from preventable diseases?

Patrons may schedule a specific time slot for their pets to receive their vaccines. Appointments will become available on Thursday, April 9th, at 2:00 P.M. Walk-ins will be seen after all appointments for that time slot have been seen, so there may be a wait. We recommend arriving after 11:00 A.M. for walk-ins.

On Saturday, March 7th, from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., head over to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, where you’ll have the chance to meet our new Foster Coordinator, Kendra, as she shares program updates and answers your questions to get you ready for the upcoming kitten season.

This is a wonderful way to get refreshed on all things fostering for our seasoned fosters, as well as a great introduction to the program if you’re interested in getting involved.

Many of you may have noticed some significant improvements at the Nancy Mockler Dog Park recently! We are thrilled to share the story behind our new agility obstacles and invite you to their dedication ceremony.

The Story Behind the Obstacles

In early 2024, the Dog Handling Facility at F.E. Warren Air Force Base was scheduled for closure and demolition. This meant that the timeless agility obstacles, used for many years to train brave Military Working Dogs, were also slated to be destroyed.

Fortunately, it was decided that these valuable training tools could be put to better public use! For over a year, the Cheyenne Animal Shelter worked closely with F.E. Warren, and the obstacles were finally delivered to us this past July.

Ribbon Cutting & Dedication Ceremony

Please join us to officially celebrate this amazing addition!

To honor the lasting partnership between the Cheyenne Animal Shelter and F.E. Warren Air Force Base, we will host a:

• What: Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony

• When: Wednesday, December 17th at 1:00 PM

• Where: Nancy Mockler Dog Park

These unique obstacles will be dedicated to all working dogs and their courageous handlers who stand in harm's way. 

There will also be a demonstration from a Military Working Dog team who will run the new obstacle course. Because there will be working dogs onsite, we will have to close the dog park from 12-2 to make time for the set-up and cleanup of the park.
