Updates to Adoptions!

This weekend was so busy with many adoptions, our annual Fur Ball, and our 9 newest puppies settling in with their sweet mom. Here are some updates we’d love to share to kick off the week:

Adoptions

  1. We’ve had a lot of people reaching out to get updates on when specific breeds of dogs will start to be available. We are pointing everyone to the website, as that is the most real-time update available. Keep checking back before we open at Noon, Monday to Saturday!

  2. With that, we are encouraging those interested in adopting to just drop in –no appointment necessary! Staff are currently having a difficult time keeping up with all of the wonderful applications coming in, so we’re streamlining the process and doing adoption councils without appointments. If you currently have an application and appointment on the books, we are also encouraging you to stop by during our operating hours.

With everything going on a first-come-first-serve basis, please be patient with us and expect to wait for an hour or so before your adoption council.

Fostering

  1. It’s amazing to say that all dogs available for foster at this time have been placed! Our Foster Coordinator has been inundated with applications and is working on processing them and following up. If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out the form on our website and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

Volunteering

  1. Volunteer information and temporary volunteer waivers are available at our front desk for those interested in helping walk dogs, do LOTS of laundry and dishes, and to help with anything else that pops up. Eventually, all temporary volunteers will be asked to attend an orientation to get access to our normal volunteer system and all the awesome perks that come with being a Cheyenne Animal Shelter volunteer!

Again, thank you SO much to the community for the outpouring of support! There have been so many wonderful moments in this not so great situation all because of you. We are asking for your continued support and patience as we continue to make dogs available for adoption. Questions? Reach out to us at info@caswyo.org or call 307-632-6655.
