An Out-of-this-World Evening!
That's a wrap on the 2024 P.E.T. Fur Ball! From paddle raisers to auction bid wars to stories straight from our Vet Clinic, we had such an out-of-this-world evening and it’s all thanks to you. With immense gratitude to our incredible sponsors, donors, and patrons, we are delighted to share that the Fur Ball grossed $180,000 for the clinical services and programs here at the Shelter! While words may not convey the depth of our appreciation for this remarkable community, we can take a moment to show the impact that your generosity has already made.
Allow us to introduce Dundee, a 1-year-old black cat who ventured to the Shelter after a concerned member of our community found him outside and hardly moving. Unable to use his right hind leg, our veterinary team's initial evaluation revealed that Dundee had suffered a displaced tibial and fibular fracture. Further evaluations revealed that Dundee's broken leg was not repairable with the resources available at the Shelter and had to be amputated.
Thankfully, Dundee knew he was in compassionate, capable hands and stayed cool, calm, and collected during the process. The procedure may have come with a price tag, but the contributions made at Fur Ball removed that barrier to the life-saving care he needed. Now, as he recuperates from his procedure and adjusts to the 'tripod life', Dundee is eagerly anticipating finding a loving home to call his own!
We invite you to reflect on Dundee's story - a testament to the transformative power of your collective efforts! Your kindness has not only changed Dundee's life, but has paved the way for us to continue our mission of enhancing the quality of life for animals and people through compassion, respect, and education.
